The main advantages of welding with a robot are in the first-class quality of finished products and high productivity of welding production.
As with any modern and high-tech production, in the field of robot welding there are a lot of important features, the knowledge of which will allow you to achieve the best result and start a really safe, highly efficient welding process.
How to achieve accuracy in the performance of work?
As already mentioned, the main advantage of robotic welding is its high accuracy: for example, the technical characteristics of modern welding robots make it possible to achieve a position accuracy of the welding torch of the order of 0.03-0.05 mm, which is sufficient for the vast majority of welding tasks.
However, a certain drawback of the robot is that, unlike a person, with insufficiently accurate positioning of the part, he cannot independently change the path and find the right point for welding, so the positioning and assembly error of the workpiece should not exceed 0.5 mm.
If it is impossible to achieve this positioning accuracy, it is necessary to apply methods for correcting the welding path, for example, use a laser system for tracking the joint of the seam. Correction of the trajectories will make it possible to maintain the quality of the welded product, but, on the other hand, when using it, it is reasonable to expect a drop in productivity up to 30%.
